If you are planning a holiday or short break the Marine Hotel in Troon, on the South Ayrshire coast, is the perfect destination. Whether your goal is to be active, to relax, or to simply enjoy a round or two of golf, this is a great location for you to indulge.
Many of our guests enjoy our proximity to the Royal Troon Golf Club, the famous links course that has been host to The Open on so many occasions. Being situated next to the club makes us the natural choice for Golf Breaks, whether for an overnight stay, a long weekend or perhaps a week or a fortnight’s holiday.
With a choice of courses including The Old Course – one of the greatest links courses in Scotland – and The Portland Course, guests can select the 18 holes that best suit their game. The Old Course offers challenging deep rough interspersed with gorse and broom, and, of course, strong winds, meaning accurate shots need to be an essential feature of your game. The Portland Course is billed as the easier option but is still a challenging if slightly more sheltered course. The holes take you on a winding route through terrain that is also filled with gorse and broom, and with a number of par 3 and par 5 holes.
Whether you’re playing with friends or family, you can practise your game on one of these world-class courses while enjoying the invigorating wind from the sea and the fresh ocean air, and then enjoy relaxing in the comfortable surroundings of The Marine Hotel.
Sea views are on show from the golf courses, from our best hotel rooms, and from the Arran Bar, make this a truly unique way to enjoy the stunning Ayrshire coastline while relaxing in style.
Those who are less inclined towards golf can enjoy our leisure club and spa facilities. Or why not combine the two and enjoy a Spa and Golf Break? Offering both the opportunity for exercise and relaxation, guests can make the most of our well-equipped gym or shake off the stresses of modern life in our spa. The Health and Leisure Club provides a modern fitness suite, more than 30 fitness classes, squash courts, a heated indoor swimming pool with unique views of the Firth of Clyde, a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and spa pool.
Many of our guests like to de-stress by engaging in a challenging workout, followed by a leisurely few hours relaxing in our pool and spa facilities.
Guests on golf and spa breaks with us also like to indulge in the locally-sourced cuisine in our AA Rosette Two Fat Ladies Restaurant. Our chef is committed to creating dishes from fresh ingredients that emphasise our Scottish heritage and make the most of our proximity to the sea with delicious seafood dishes.
The Arran Bar is open for lunch and afternoon tea and is stocked with a fabulous range of beers, wines and spirits for you to enjoy as you take in the stunning coastal views.
